Hall of Flame

Burnt Acciate

Here I was testing different materials and ideas to create an installation piece, from burnt paper straws to acciate and paint. The burnt acciate and paint I found to be the strongest. To create a instrallation inspired by the work of Cornelia Parker's 'Burnt Shed'.

Contextual Notes - Alberto Burri

Alberto Burri's work of burnt paint, known as 'cretti', creates some interesting effects, which reminds me of my burnt accitate piece and inspires me to do more maybe with burnt paint and see what differnt effects happen.

Cornelia Parker

At the monent I am looking into the works by Cornelia Parker. "Burnt Shed" where she burnt a shed, kept what's left behind,  and hung them in the shape of the shed. I think this really relates to my work how she focuses on whats left behind and the loss of structure.
I'm experimenting with paper and colour and different materiels I could use to recreate this. Making small installations before making the final piece.

Here's some of the works by Parker that I'm interested in, and I find relate to my project.

Prints of What's Left Behind

I'm going to make prints out of the remains of this 'house of matches', repeatings print after print to ware away what's left behind, to see how far I can go, using the ashes.
